JIBE - Post 2 - Tag Tuesday!

1. What is your favourite Disney movie?

Tangled, without a shadow of a doubt! I love it!

2. Who is your favourite  hero/protagonist and why?

Rapunzel from Tangled.

3. Who is your favourite villain and why?

I don’t know if he can really be classed as a villain but he is trying to ruin Christmas so I suppose he is kind of a Villain! – Jack Skellington. Or the Queen of Hearts.

4. What is your favourite Disney song?

Its so hard to choose just one so I’m going to say Part of your world from The Little Mermaid and Why Should I Worry from Oliver and Company.

5. Which do you prefer more, 2D animated Disney films or 3D?

I have never seen a Disney film in 3D so will have to go with 2D.

6. What was your first Disney movie?

I can’t say for certain but I think it was either Aladdin or 101 Dalmatians. I’ve recently started re-building my collection on DVD though and the first I bought this time round was Beauty and the Beast.

7. What is your favourite Disney quote/line?

I cant just choose one!

Wake up and smell the humous – Genie,Aladdin.

I’m packing your angry eyes, just in case – Mrs Potato Head, Toy Story 2.

Don’t lets be silly – Madhatter, Alice in Wonderland

8. Was there a Disney movie that scared you as a child?

It wasn’t the film itself that scared me but I hated watching The Little Mermaid because Ursula scared the living day lights out of me!

9. What is your least favourite Disney movie?

Probably Cars – I’ve never watched it but it just doesn’t appeal to me at all.

10. Who is your least favourite Disney character?

I’m going to have to say Gaston from Beauty and the Beast – he’s just far too egotistical for my liking which I know is the point but I just don’t like him.

11. Which Disney movie would you most like to see a prequel/sequel for?

Tangled!! I know there’s Tangled Ever After which is amazing but its only six minutes! I need more!!

12. If you could be any Disney character for a day, who would you be and why?

Probably the Cheshire Cat so I could disappear and reappear when it suited.

13. Least favourite Disney song?

We are Siamese if you please – Lady and the Tramp. I cant stand those cats!

14. If you could combine two Disney movies for a special one off spin off which two would you choose?

Would have to say 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the Tramp just because 101 dogs just isn’t enough! :P

15. Favourite existing Disney couple?

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider

16. Who, in your opinion, would create the ultimate Disney couple?

Hades (Hercules) and Ursula (The Little Mermaid) – They would make some evil children but they’d have the prettiest skin tone! :P

17. If you could have a Disney character as your best friend who would you choose and why?

Mia from The Princess Diaries just because she’s so down to earth and it would be great to have a princess as your best friend! Or obviously Rapunzel!

18. If you could marry any Disney character who would you choose and why?

Flynn Rider! I don’t like any of the other Disney princes!

19. Which Disney character do you most compare yourself to?

Belle from Beauty & the Beast just because she loves reading and so do I. Lame reason, I know!

20. Who is your favourite Disney princess?

Rapunzel! Bet you didn’t see that one coming :P Belle is my second favourite and Ariel is my third favourite J

21. Have you ever cried at a Disney movie? If so, which?

I’ve cried at a few – Lion King (Obviously!), Up, Toy Story 3, Old Yeller and Bambi.

22. Favourite Disney prince?

Flynn Rider – See question 18.

23. Most disappointing moment in a Disney movie?

This has, by far, got to be when Beast turns back into a prince – He looked so much better as the beast!!

24. Favourite Disney double act?

Pascal and Max from Tangled!

There you have my Disney Tag! I loved doing this tag and tag you all to do it too!

JIBE - Post 1

I want to start this post with an apology for not blogging much throughout June, I was very busy and was made redundant so I was a bit all over the place. As way of an apology though I have decided to do the same as I did throughout May and blog everyday of this month.

I've decided to call this JIBE, which means July I'll Blog Everyday and figured it made sense to start JIBE with my July Wishlist. Just before I start though I have decided to rename my Wish List to Lust List for no reason other than I think it has a ring to it! Without further a do here's my July Lust List for you...

Make Up

Inglot Freedom System
I haven’t really looked into Inglot products much in the past but they seem to be getting mentioned more and more on beauty blogs and YouTube channels alike and it got me intrigued so decided to check out their website. I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices as I was expecting the products to be so much more expensive than they actually are and have decided that I would like my make my own Freedom System palette. I’m unsure if I would want just an eye shadow palette, just a blush palette or a collective palette as yet but its definitely something I will be looking into more this month.

Nails

Dotting Tools

I have had my eye on dotting tools for a while now but always hold back from actually buying some because I just know that I will be useless at nail art! I was recently watching one of Coleyyyful’s videos [here] which was a Hungry Caterpillar nail art tutorial and it’s made me decide to finally buy some dotting tools! I have plenty of nail wheels so I will be able to practice on those until I pluck up the courage to attempt anything on my actual nails but I’m looking forward to giving it a go!

Skin / Lip Care

Yankee Candle Lip Balm
I recently saw this featured on Coleyyyful’s Blog and I just have to have one for myself! How cute is it?! As with most things, the scent will probably be wasted on me as I have no sense of smell but I really want to try one! At only £3.99 from [this seller] on eBay I think it’s really reasonable and I will probably treat myself to one with my birthday money.

Oil Atum Moisturiser
The Pixiwoo sisters both speak very highly of this moisturiser and as I have dry skin, like them, I am just itching to give it a go! I have never managed to find my staple moisturiser so am hoping that this could finally be the one!

Randoms

Disney DVDs
I have recently rekindled my love for Disney and am trying to get together some sort of Disney DVD collection. In the past two days I have bought Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp, Lady and the Tramp 2, The Fox and the Hound, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Mary Poppins, Lion King 2 and A Bugs Life (I think I have a problem!) but I desperately want The Little Mermaid, Oliver and Company, Cinderella, Dumbo and Tangled! There’s just something about Disney films – they take me back to my childhood and are full of happy memories!

White Converse Hi Tops
Now, these shouldn’t really be on my Wishlist as up until last Saturday I already owned a pair but I had a little incident in Tesco which resulted in my lovely shiny white converse (It was the first time I had worn them!) getting covered in Lloyds Grossman Tomato and Chilli pasta sauce! Luckily I had my mum with me at the time otherwise I would have just moped around in embarrassment, mourning the loss of my boots but she marched up to a member of staff and said she wanted to make a claim for my boots. They asked me to go home and try to wash the boots first and if that wasn’t any good they would refund me the full amount for them. Obviously the sauce didn’t come out so they were taken back and I was given the money to get some new ones but had to leave my sauce splattered ones there to be sent to Head Office and so I am now converse-less! I loved my white converse and have ordered some more which should be delivered in two weeks! I’ve made a note to stay away from any precariously stacked jars of sauce whilst wearing brand new white shoes in future!

So there's my Lust List for this month!

What are you lusting after?

Nobody puts baby in a corner!

Last Christmas my mum gave me a ticket to see Dirty Dancing at the Leeds Grand Theatre. The show wasn't until this Monday, 18/06/2012, and at Christmas it seemed like forever away but it soon came around!

Every female in my family had tickets and we were super excited from the second we entered the theatre. I was interested to see how the story would transpose from the screen to the stage. and was worried that the stage adaptation wouldn't stay true to the film but I honestly didn't have anything to worry about!

The cast were amazing, especially Emily Holt who plays baby - she stayed so true to the character and had her nailed to a tee, from the voice to the body language, everything was perfect!

Half of me couldn't wait for the famous closing number but the other half didn't want it to come as I was enjoying the show so much! Obviously the whole audience was on their feet as soon as 'Time of my life' started and the entire theatre was filled with gasps, whoops and cheers during the uber famous lift!

I managed to get a sneaky picture of the lift and Emily Holt actually retweeted it to Paul Jones who plays Johnny!

If you haven't seen this show yet I seriously advise you to whilst it's still touring! I promise you'll have the time of your life!

Birthday Haul

Yesterday was my birthday and I got a few make up items so thought I would share them with you.

My family don't like to buy me make up as they don't know what I like or what I already have but my fiancé, Scott, asked me what I would like and I chose 5 things for him to wrap up for me...

The first three things are the same but different shades and they are the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. I already have On and on bronze and love it so much that I needed to add more to my collection! I chose Permenant Taupe, Immortal Charcoal and Eternal Gold and after swatching them I love them all!

The other two items I chose are both from Sleek. The first is the Pout Polish in Peach Perfection which is a pretty, peach toned lip tint and the second item is the Pout Polish in Peachy Keen which is a highly pigmented lip stain.

I will have full reviews of all the products mentioned up very soon as I feel they all deserve their own posts!

Have you tried any of these products, did you rate or hate?

My Top Ten Everyday Eyeshadows

As you can see from the swatches above, I have a thing for browns and golds when it comes to eye shadows! Heres my favourites, in no particular order...

1. Maybelline Colour Tattoo – On and On Bronze

Perfect for - Wearing alone or as a base.

This is my go to everyday eye shadow. Application is absolutely fool proof and the results are amazing. Read a full review on this eyeshadow [here]

2. Champagne from Sleek Storm Palette

Perfect for – Brightening the inner corner of the eye. Using in the tear duct area.

This is a beautiful shimmery champagne shade. It really brightens my eye area up and makes me look more ‘awake’.

3. Naked from Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Perfect for – Using as a base.

This was my every day base shade before I purchased the Maybelline Color Tattoo. It’s a tad darker than the skin on my lid so could be worn alone for a super simple, understated everyday look but I find it works best as a base – it really holds the other shadows in place.

4. No.7 Starry Lights (Shade 69)

Perfect for – Using as a highlighter.

This ivory toned eye shadow with fine flecks of shimmer is super soft and makes the perfect brow bone hightlight! It could also be used to highlight the tops of your cheek bones – two products for the price of one! I really like to wear a tiny amount of this in my tear duct area too, just to brighten things up a bit.

5. Half Baked from Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Perfect for – Neutral every day looks.

Half Baked is without a doubt my favourite shade in the Naked palette. Its such a wearable shade and looks great alone or with similar toned eye shadows!

6. Barbara Daly ‘Twig’

Perfect for – Adding extra shimmer to neutral/brown toned eye looks.

This is different to any other eye shadow that I have as it comes in a tube with a roller ball applicator. I love putting a little bit of this over my eyes when I am wearing a neutral look as it adds a bit of extra sparkle.

7.  Shade 1 – Pearl – MUA

Perfect for – Using as a highlighter along the brow bone and in the tear duct area.

This oyster/ivory shade is very similar to the No.7 Starry Lights and is also a great highlighter on the brow bone. It could also be used to highlight the tops of your cheek bones – two products for the price of one! I really like to wear a tiny amount of this in my tear duct area too, just to brighten things up a bit.

8. Gold from Sleek Storm Palette

Perfect for – People with blue eyes. Can be used all over the lid or to brighten the inner corner. Also looks great as an eyeliner.

This shimmery golden shade compliments my eye colour perfectly.  It emphasises the blue of my eyes and makes them ‘pop’. I like to run a little under my lash line to add an extra bit of shimmer and make the look more intense.

9. Flesh from Sleek Ultra Matte Darks Palette

Perfect for – Wearing all over the lid, either alone or with a darker brown in the crease and outer corner to smoke things up.

When I first saw this shade in the palette I couldn’t imagine it being very flattering as its quite a peachy toned nude colour but I couldn’t have been more wrong! I love wearing this both alone and as a base for a neutral smoky eye. Its super wearable and has fast become one of my all time favourite shades!

10. Paper Bag from Sleek Ultra Matte Darks Palette

Perfect for –Wearing in the crease and outer corner, with a neutral base, for a simple everyday look.

I love using this together with the Flesh shade mentioned above. The two compliment each other perfectly and make for a simple yet effective everyday look.

So there you have it, my top ten everyday eyeshadows!

Hope you enjoyed :)

What are your favourite eyeshadows?
