April Wishlist

This month I have my eye on quite a few items and plan to take full advantage of the fantastic 3 for 2 offer Boots are currently running and hopefully purchase some, if not all, of this products included on this months wishlist...

1. Real Techniques Brushes - I have been wanting these brushes for a while now and it seems that more and more YouTube Beauty Gurus are purchasing them which makes me want them all the more! I definitley want to pick up the Core Collection as well as the Stipple Brush and maybe the Blush Brush too.

2. Rimmel London Moisture Renew Nude Delight Lipstick - I saw this lipstick featured on one a make up tutorial by Beauty Crush and it seems like the perfect nude lipstick that I have been searching for! I plan on swatching this lipstick in the next few days and hope it lives up to my expectations and ends my seemingly endless search!

3. Maybelline Super Shock Gel Eye Liner - I really want to learn how to apply gel eyeliner properly as I love the way it looks and, as they say, practice makes perfect, so I would really like to give this gel eye liner a try and hopefully master the art of gel eye liner application!

4. Natural Collection Barley Sugar Lipgloss - This is another product I saw featured on Beauty Crush's channel. She wore it over the Nude Delight Lipstick and the two complimented each other perfectly so I figured if I was buying one I should buy the other.

5. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation - This foundation is getting rave reviews on both beauty blogs and YouTube channels and I just have to find out what all of the fuss is about!

What products are on your wish list this month?

Tag Tuesday - 7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag?

This tag has been doing the rounds on both YouTube and Beauty Blogs alike so I thought I would do it too...

GREED - What is your most expensive beauty item? What is your least expensive?

My most expensive beauty item is the Urban Decay Naked palette. I know compared to most other beauty bloggers this wont seem very expensive but up until recently I wasnt really 'in to' make up and its only over the past few months that I have started buying some of the more expensive brands.

My least expensive beauty item is my MUA lipsticks. At only a pound a pop you cant go wrong and they really are great value for the money!

WRATH - What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

I have a love/hate relationship with Gel Eyeliner. I love the way it looks but I hate that I cant apply it!

I havent really struggled to get any of my make up items. If I had to choose one I would probably say my MAC foundation simply because of where my nearest MAC counter is located.

GLUTTONY - What are your most delicious beauty products?

This is a difficuly question for me to answer. Most bloggers have chosen products that smell nice but I have no sense of smell so cant really choose a product for its smell! I'm going to have to say my Bourjois Delice De Poudre just because it looks (and apparently smells) like chocolate!

SLOTH - What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

Without a doubt it has to be primer! I just forget to use it and remember half way through applying my foundation by which time its too late!

PRIDE - What beauty product gives you the most self-confidence?
Definitley foundation! Its the only product I wont leave the house without wearing!

LUST - What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

I really dont see what this has to do with beauty but hey-ho. I like a man with a good sense of humour and prefer dark eyes and dark hair :)

ENVY - What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
At the moment I would love to be given MAC's Shy Girl Lipstick as a present! I absolutely adore it but just cant justify spending £13.50 on a lipstick! Other than that I would quite like to be given the Chanel Soleil tan de chanel bronzer or OPI Call me Jacques nail varnish.

Experimental Eyes

I was bored this evening so decided to have a play around with eye make up and this is what I came up with.

Eyes Open

Without Flash

With Flash

I used the Sleek Bad Girl palette which is perfect for creating smokey eye looks. I used Blade over the entire lid and Gunmetal in the crease and on the outer corner. I then applied Underground over the Gunmetal in the outer corner to smoke it up a bit. I recently bought a cheap silver glitter pigment from Peacocks which I placed in the inner portion of my eye to brighten things up then I applied gel eyeliner to the upper lash line in a double flick (very poorly may I add but it's still new to me!) to make my eye lashes appear longer. To finish the look I used Rimmel London's Kohl Eyeliner on my water line and tight line and added a bit of Noir eyeshadow from the Bad Girl palette to my lower lash line to create that smokey look.

Overall I was quite pleased with the results. As said above I am new to using gel eyeliner and am still learning how to apply it properly but I'm sure I'll get there in the end!
Have you tried the Sleek Bad Girl palette? What were your thoughts?

March Favourites

As it's the beginning of April here are my March Favourites...

Make Up -

Urban Decay Naked Palette - I'm still really enjoying this palette and it has fast become my most reached for palette. It's just perfect for everyday looks but can be used for night time looks too - a perfect all rounder I'm my book!

Elf Powder Brush - I just love everything about this brush. It picks up so much product and makes application a breeze. It's lovely and soft too which is always good!

Skin Care -

No. 7 Radiance Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser - I have recently re-discovered this product again and am absolutely loving it. It leaves my skin feeling cleansed, smooth and, well, radiant as the name would suggest! :)

Books -

The Hunger Games Trilogy - I have just recently finished reading The Hunger Games trilogy and all I can say is WOW! I really wish I had discovered these books sooner! They're so well written and the story is just fantastic. If you haven't read these books first of all, what us wrong with you?! And secondly I seriously recommend you read them! They've definitley knocked the Twilight Saga off of my number two too book series spot! They didn't quite manage to beat Harry Potter to the top spot though! I will be doing The Hunger Games tag very soon so keep you're eyes peeked if that's something you'd be interested in reading!

Films -

The Hunger Games - As mentioned above I an currently obsessed with The Hunger Games. I went to see the film with my sister on it's release date and was quite impressed with it. Obviously the book is much better than the film, as is usually the case, but I did enjoy the film... even if some bits have been missed out or altered slightly...

YouTube Channel -

EssieButton - I am obsessed with watching beauty videos on YouTube and I watch a number of 'Beauty Gurus' but I recently stumbled upon EssieButton and have been hooked ever since! She's so comical and fun but really knows her stuff about make up! She is just great to watch and I really recommend you watch her channel!

Random -

Bagels - My random favourite this month is bagels. I don't usually like them but just lately I can't get enough of them! I love them with ham, beetroot and mayonnaise for my lunch and have had it everyday this week with the exception of today when I had a toasted bagel with peanut butter. Yummy!

What were your favourite things last month?

With Love,

Rachel x
