Nobody puts baby in a corner!

Last Christmas my mum gave me a ticket to see Dirty Dancing at the Leeds Grand Theatre. The show wasn't until this Monday, 18/06/2012, and at Christmas it seemed like forever away but it soon came around!

Every female in my family had tickets and we were super excited from the second we entered the theatre. I was interested to see how the story would transpose from the screen to the stage. and was worried that the stage adaptation wouldn't stay true to the film but I honestly didn't have anything to worry about!

The cast were amazing, especially Emily Holt who plays baby - she stayed so true to the character and had her nailed to a tee, from the voice to the body language, everything was perfect!

Half of me couldn't wait for the famous closing number but the other half didn't want it to come as I was enjoying the show so much! Obviously the whole audience was on their feet as soon as 'Time of my life' started and the entire theatre was filled with gasps, whoops and cheers during the uber famous lift!

I managed to get a sneaky picture of the lift and Emily Holt actually retweeted it to Paul Jones who plays Johnny!

If you haven't seen this show yet I seriously advise you to whilst it's still touring! I promise you'll have the time of your life!

Birthday Haul

Yesterday was my birthday and I got a few make up items so thought I would share them with you.

My family don't like to buy me make up as they don't know what I like or what I already have but my fiancé, Scott, asked me what I would like and I chose 5 things for him to wrap up for me...

The first three things are the same but different shades and they are the Maybelline Colour Tattoos. I already have On and on bronze and love it so much that I needed to add more to my collection! I chose Permenant Taupe, Immortal Charcoal and Eternal Gold and after swatching them I love them all!

The other two items I chose are both from Sleek. The first is the Pout Polish in Peach Perfection which is a pretty, peach toned lip tint and the second item is the Pout Polish in Peachy Keen which is a highly pigmented lip stain.

I will have full reviews of all the products mentioned up very soon as I feel they all deserve their own posts!

Have you tried any of these products, did you rate or hate?

My Top Ten Everyday Eyeshadows

As you can see from the swatches above, I have a thing for browns and golds when it comes to eye shadows! Heres my favourites, in no particular order...

1. Maybelline Colour Tattoo – On and On Bronze

Perfect for - Wearing alone or as a base.

This is my go to everyday eye shadow. Application is absolutely fool proof and the results are amazing. Read a full review on this eyeshadow [here]

2. Champagne from Sleek Storm Palette

Perfect for – Brightening the inner corner of the eye. Using in the tear duct area.

This is a beautiful shimmery champagne shade. It really brightens my eye area up and makes me look more ‘awake’.

3. Naked from Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Perfect for – Using as a base.

This was my every day base shade before I purchased the Maybelline Color Tattoo. It’s a tad darker than the skin on my lid so could be worn alone for a super simple, understated everyday look but I find it works best as a base – it really holds the other shadows in place.

4. No.7 Starry Lights (Shade 69)

Perfect for – Using as a highlighter.

This ivory toned eye shadow with fine flecks of shimmer is super soft and makes the perfect brow bone hightlight! It could also be used to highlight the tops of your cheek bones – two products for the price of one! I really like to wear a tiny amount of this in my tear duct area too, just to brighten things up a bit.

5. Half Baked from Urban Decay Naked Palette.

Perfect for – Neutral every day looks.

Half Baked is without a doubt my favourite shade in the Naked palette. Its such a wearable shade and looks great alone or with similar toned eye shadows!

6. Barbara Daly ‘Twig’

Perfect for – Adding extra shimmer to neutral/brown toned eye looks.

This is different to any other eye shadow that I have as it comes in a tube with a roller ball applicator. I love putting a little bit of this over my eyes when I am wearing a neutral look as it adds a bit of extra sparkle.

7.  Shade 1 – Pearl – MUA

Perfect for – Using as a highlighter along the brow bone and in the tear duct area.

This oyster/ivory shade is very similar to the No.7 Starry Lights and is also a great highlighter on the brow bone. It could also be used to highlight the tops of your cheek bones – two products for the price of one! I really like to wear a tiny amount of this in my tear duct area too, just to brighten things up a bit.

8. Gold from Sleek Storm Palette

Perfect for – People with blue eyes. Can be used all over the lid or to brighten the inner corner. Also looks great as an eyeliner.

This shimmery golden shade compliments my eye colour perfectly.  It emphasises the blue of my eyes and makes them ‘pop’. I like to run a little under my lash line to add an extra bit of shimmer and make the look more intense.

9. Flesh from Sleek Ultra Matte Darks Palette

Perfect for – Wearing all over the lid, either alone or with a darker brown in the crease and outer corner to smoke things up.

When I first saw this shade in the palette I couldn’t imagine it being very flattering as its quite a peachy toned nude colour but I couldn’t have been more wrong! I love wearing this both alone and as a base for a neutral smoky eye. Its super wearable and has fast become one of my all time favourite shades!

10. Paper Bag from Sleek Ultra Matte Darks Palette

Perfect for –Wearing in the crease and outer corner, with a neutral base, for a simple everyday look.

I love using this together with the Flesh shade mentioned above. The two compliment each other perfectly and make for a simple yet effective everyday look.

So there you have it, my top ten everyday eyeshadows!

Hope you enjoyed :)

What are your favourite eyeshadows?
